How Airport Security Works

The colors used to symbolize “inorganic” and “metal” may vary across manufacturers, however, most explosives are organic, hence all X-ray systems use hues of orange to represent “organic.” Machine workers are taught to check for suspicious objects, including anything that may be part of an improvised explosive device, not simply obvious items like firearms or knives.
